Sustainable Landscape
Here at Pierre, we are focused on creating eco-friendly landscapes that not only conserve natural resources, but also save property owners money by significantly decreasing the dollar amount of their water bills, electricity bills, and maintenance costs. Below are systems and materials that we use to accomplish these sustainable landscapes.
Smart Controllers
Smart controllers reduce water use 30-70%. They utilize weather-sensitive technology so your irrigation system waters only when the landscape requires it, and they maximize water efficiency by factoring in everything from soil type to the slope of your lawn to the amount of sun exposure different areas receive.
Drip System Irrigation
Drip system irrigation provides high water application efficiency, preventing over-spray that can waste 20% of the water used. It minimizes soil erosion and prevents water run-off that carries silt, animal feces, pesticides, and fertilizers onto adjoining properties and into waterways. Additionally, drip system irrigation lowers your energy costs by operating at a low pressure.
Rotary Nozzles
Rotary nozzles help reduce water waste and limit irrigation run-off by using a low precipitation rate. They increase irrigation radius range, resulting in fewer zones and faster installations.
Mulch
Not only does mulch enhance the overall appearance of your landscape, but it’s also functional by retaining moisture during dry weather and reducing the need for watering, encouraging the growth of worms and other beneficial soil organisms, and reducing the need for weeding and using herbicides.
Synthetic Turf
Synthetic turf looks great all year long and is an excellent sustainable landscaping resource. It uses no water, requires no maintenance, is 100% lead free, drains 30% faster than real grass, is fire retardant, has a 20-25 year life expectancy, has no harmful environment effects, is made from already recycled materials, and is 80-100% recyclable. Furthermore, synthetic turf comes in several different types to perfectly match your desired landscaping.
